Visit a National Park

National parks make great getaways, especially if you’re an outdoorsy couple. Utah is a great example because it’s full of incredible national parks. In the northern part of the state, visit Moab and Arches National Parks. In the south, visit Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. 

No matter where you’re jumping off point is, Utah works best by car. Hold hands as you drive past picturesque scenery and admire the views. It’s a lot of fun to start in Las Vegas and drive through the desert to get to the southern portions of the state. You can even stop at some amazing state and national parks in Arizona along the way. 

A Weekend Cruise

A relaxing cruise can be just the ticket for a romantic getaway. It’s easy to hop on a cruise ship for a long weekend. Easy means more time for romance as you enjoy the cruise ship and picturesque surroundings. Visiting the Bahamas is the perfect trip for a long weekend cruise. 

There’s much to do and see in this beautiful part of the Caribbean. You can choose to spend hours on the beach, go on long hikes, snorkel or amble through the open marketplace. One thing is for sure, surrounded by brilliant blue water and white sandy beaches, you’re going to feel the romance. 

Don’t forget about the food! The Bahamas has many flavorful and delicious dishes for you to enjoy. Splitting a dish with Caribbean flair is sure to bring romance to your trip! 

Albuquerque, New Mexico

Albuquerque is also worth a visit for the romantic weekend you’ve been dreaming of. It’s best to arrive by plane, and it helps to have a car to get around the city. This city has a unique, artistic culture, heavily inspired by Native Americans. What’s more romantic than a hot air balloon ride, something this city is known for?

You’ll also want to sample the food, which has a Native American flair. Foods tend to be spicy, so be ready for pepper and hot sauce-inspired dishes. You’ll want to split frybread with your partner while you’re in town. It’s a delicious staple. 

Texas Hill Country

Texas is a great place to visit and full of romance. The Texas Hill Country is a beautiful setting with much to do. Hike the hills, kayak a river or explore Austin. Tubing in New Braunfels is a great addition to any visit, if you’re thinking of a summer trip. 

If you rent a car, take a trip to Fredericksburg, Texas wine country. Texas has delicious wine, and this is a fun area to explore. Taste the local flavors, all just an hour outside Austin. 

While in Austin, spend some time eating. Austin is a foodie’s paradise. Barbecue is incredible, especially the brisket. You’ve also got to try the tacos and margarita, since you can’t leave without exploring TexMex. 

Naples, Florida

For a stateside beach stay, make a trip to Naples. Naples, located in Southern Florida, is full of great eateries, beautiful golf courses and picturesque beaches, making this a surprisingly romantic city to visit.. Take a walk down Vanderbilt Beach or visit the shops of Old Naples for a souvenir. Make sure you take the time to play a round of golf or two at one of Naples’ many stellar courses. If water is why you are going to Florida, do plan to take a cruise and journey towards east on the p and o iona.

Naples has great food too! Enjoy delicious, locally caught seafood. Key lime pie is a must while you’re in South Florida. There’s also a lot of delicious Cuban food. Split a traditional dish with your significant other.
