In life today, there are many benefits of tomatoes, and all of them are benefitial to our health too.
We will be discussing on those benefits of tomatoes in all dimensions, so pay attention and understand what we're about to talk about.

Below are the benefits of tomatoes and their contributions to our health.

 

1. Tomatoes helps to prevent cancer.

With the help of an antioxidant found in tomatoes which is Lycopene. Its potent antioxidant properties have been found to neutralize free radicals that are generated in our bodies due to various reasons. It is also observed in the laboratory studies that tomato components have prevented the proliferation of several cancer cell types.
Again, someone can enhance the cancer-fighting potential of tomatoes by taking them in a processed form .– like the sauce, juice, or paste of tomatoes. When that is done it allows the natural compounds in tomatoes to be more easily absorbed by the body.

2. Tomatoes helps to regulate blood pressure.

Same lycopene in tomatoes has also shown to reduce blood pressure.
Tomatoes are also rich in potassium, a mineral known to lower blood pressure levels. potassium reduces the effects of sodium. The more you consume potassium , is the more you loose sodium through urine. Apart from this, potassium eases the tension in the walls of your blood vessels and hereby reduces blood pressure. But be careful not to consume too much of potassium as it might lead to kidney problem.

Lycopene is also known to improve the functioning of blood vessels in general, which can help reduce blood pressure , and it has no effect on normal blood pressure levels. Studies have concluded that lycopene supplements can have beneficial effects towards blood pressure.
But the best option would be fresh tomatoes – as they are the richest in potassium and can have the best blood pressure-lowering effects .

3. Tomatoes promotes weight loss.

Tomato juice can significantly reduce body weight, body fat, and waist circumference.
It also can lower the level of cholesterol that can contribute to weight gain. Apart from being a great source of antioxidants, tomatoes are also rich in fiber and are low in calories. Hence, they promote satiety and even reduce calorie intake, thereby helping with weight loss.

4. Tomatoes improve skin and hair health.

Tomatoes are one of the important ingredient in most beauty treatments. They help to cure large pores, treat acne, soothe sun burn, and revive dull skin. The antioxidants in tomato, especially lycopene, fight cellular damage and skin inflammation.

Tomatoes also help to improve facial texture. They remove excess oils from your skin and keep your face fresh for longer.
What you have to do is to mix the juices of fresh tomatoes together with that of cucumber. Using a cotton wool ball, apply the juice to your face regularly.

5. Tomatoes helps in brain booster.

Tomatoes, being rich in lycopene and beta-carotene and other antioxidants, can help in boosting the brain and reducing brain damage. tomatoes, when taken with olive oil, can have better effects. Reason is because the carotenoids in tomatoes are dissolved in fat (olive oil) and can be easily absorbed by the blood. So go for fresh tomatoes to reap the benefits of lycopene and other essential nutrients.
