Players competing in the 2024 WDF Lakeside World Championship will have £221,000 in prize money to share. The Lakeside tournament starts on Friday, November. December 29 – Sunday, December 8. The prize money is

significantly lower than in 2023, when £257,000 was made available. The reduction in prize money has not affected the amount going to the winners of the various components. The men’s tournament has a maximum prize of £50,000 on offer. Every participant is

guaranteed a prize of £750. The total prize money for the men’s tournament is £158,000. The women have £69,000 to split. They will also receive prize money of at least £750, and the new Women’s World Champion will go home with £25,000. There will also be separate men’s and women’s competitions,

with the winner of the men’s tournament receiving £3,000 and the women’s winner receiving £1,500. Certainly, there are some interesting names competing at the Lakeside. What can be said about darts legend Paul Lim, who is the only player to have thrown a nine-dart round at this iconic darts venue?

The Singaporean darts player achieved this feat in 1990. Among the men are Jimmy van See, Neil Duff, Moreno Blom, Matthew Edgar, Dennis Nilsson, François Schweyen, Brian Lamant, Sybren Goebbels, Jarno Bottenberg and Corné Groeneveld.

Among the women, Beau Greaves is the heavy favorite to win the world title.
