Six-time PGA Tour winner Finau (35) has decided to withdraw from Woods’ annual 20-player Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, which is unofficially scheduled but is organized by the PGA Tour. Minutes after Finau’s withdrawal, the American’s name was heavily linked with quitting the PGA Tour for the Saudi-funded LIV Golf League in 2025.
According to Golf Lover UK and Pro Golf Critic, who were the first to reveal a lot of the big news and moves surrounding LIV Golf recently, Finau is currently in negotiations to join RangeGoats GC. GLUK and PGC believe this is the fact after confirming that Thomas Peter has left Galtier to reach Dustin Johnson’s 4Access GC, especially after the news has been confirmed.
Finau’s wife, Alena, then went to Tactoku and responded to rumors that would lead her husband to River Golf next season. Could Tony Finau, Adam Scott, and Thomas Detry be ready for LIV Golf moves?!

Finau can also be seen entering the video. In the video clip below, Alaina mimics the words from the viral TikTok post: “My life is hard enough as it is. I definitely don’t need any more drama,” Alaina mimics. Finau then mimics, “Hey Miley (picture of LIV Golf rumor appears)…”
Alaina responds, “Hello, Drama…”

Other transfer talk going around this week includes Adam Scott and Thomas Detry potentially leaving the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf in 2025. Arguably the bigger surprise of the two is Scott, especially since the 16-time PGA Tour winner is currently a PGA Tour board member and is set to ride for Woods and Rory McIlroy in the new TGL in January 2025.
LIV Golf captains are currently busy in the transfer market looking to strengthen and rebuild their squad for the new season. The 2025 LIV Golf League season will kick off in early February in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
